Leadership for a Change!!!

I’m honored to be a Republican nominee for the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners. As a Wilmington native, I’ve seen our community change over the years, and right now we are not hearing common sense questions when it comes to growth and development.

As a small business owner, I know the pain of government overreach and how it punishes our citizens. The only person who knows how to operate a small business safely is the business owner themselves. The market will determine how safe doing commerce is.

I’m conservative, and when I see reckless spending on duplicative services, I know we need to take action. If you have a 30-year mortgage like me, you’ve seen the escrow line-item increase over the years, while your contribution to principle goes down. That is because of tax increases in past years. Now, with proposals for our insurance rates to increase nearly 99%, holding the line on the budget is even more important now.

Among my top concerns are;
Improving Education in New Hanover County;
Reducing Crime; Safe Drinking Water;
Support Dynamic Economic Development; and Reduced Spending.

If you are interested in hosting me for a reception, or a neighborhood meet and greet, please contact me. You’ll enjoy getting to know your neighbors and building community is the key to our future.

For now, I'd like to encourage you to consider making a contribution to the campaign. Click the DONATE button and review the various options. I’m offering a recurring option because a little each month ($50, $100, $250) can really go a long way. The campaign in 2024 will be very expensive and North Carolina will have Presidential and statewide campaigns buying much of the available TV/Radio time. As a result, the cost of my campaign will be more expensive.

Together, we can compete and win in New Hanover County.

I’m in, will you join me?

What I Stand For -

I am the product of the New Hanover County Schools and as a parent, the last few years have been challenging. With the 2022 Election results, I’m hopeful for a turnaround, but the School Board needs a solid partner in the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners. I believe we should look at every option that can make the NHCS system nationally recognized for excellence. That should be our goal.

Violent crime has riddled our community for too long, and the white glove approach is not working. The trauma many in our community are dealing with is because of crime is causing more problems. We must support our law enforcement and provide them with the resources necessary to do the job.

We need to build a resilient local economy through dynamic economic development. Creating jobs is something I’ve done both personally and professionally. It takes elected officials who have signed the front of a paycheck to understand the impact public policies have on job creators and small businesses. Half of all private sector jobs are employed by small businesses, and they generate 44% of all economic activity nationwide. We must protect and support our small businesses.

Lastly, it is completely understandable that as our county grows, the budget will have to grow to meet the constitutionally mandated expenses. However, we must cut spending so that we no longer need the hospital sale proceeds to subsidize our budget or fund county programs that do not meet the North Carolina constitutional requirements.

I encourage you to learn more about me, as I am a commonsense person who is conservative, and I still work to provide for my family.  I Live Third (God 1st, Family/Community 2nd and I live for myself 3rd).
