Thank You to my many Supporters!!!

Jamie and I are not walking away.

While we are disappointed with the results, we are so grateful for your support and interest in the campaign. I am reminded of the scripture in John 14:27. Jesus is talking to the disciples and says; "the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give." Jamie and I want no part of a pity party, we are doing good and looking forward to making money in the new Trump economy.

Thank You.

I've often struggled with those two words, but not like you might think. It seldom conveys how much gratitude I truly have for all of the effort and support so many of given me.

I've been closely paying attention to local politics for over 30 years, and we as a county were blessed to have such a competitive race for the County Commission this year.

I am not going away, but I do plan to lay low for a while. All of the great people who I have become friends with through this process, please know that Jamie and I love you all. You have added so much value to our lives and we can't begin to express our gratitude with only two words like thank you.

I've already started picking up yard signs because, like you, they drive me crazy. Honk if you see me.

In closing, I love this place we call home; God will put me to service to this community in some way someday.

Thank you,

John and Jamie

I love this place I call home.

What I Stand For -

I am the product of the New Hanover County Schools and as a parent, the last few years have been challenging. With the 2022 Election results, I’m hopeful for a turnaround, but the School Board needs a solid partner in the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners. I believe we should look at every option that can make the NHCS system nationally recognized for excellence. That should be our goal.

Violent crime has riddled our community for too long, and the white glove approach is not working. The trauma many in our community are dealing with is because of crime is causing more problems. We must support our law enforcement and provide them with the resources necessary to do the job.

We need to build a resilient local economy through dynamic economic development. Creating jobs is something I’ve done both personally and professionally. It takes elected officials who have signed the front of a paycheck to understand the impact public policies have on job creators and small businesses. Half of all private sector jobs are employed by small businesses, and they generate 44% of all economic activity nationwide. We must protect and support our small businesses.

Lastly, it is completely understandable that as our county grows, the budget will have to grow to meet the constitutionally mandated expenses. However, we must cut spending so that we no longer need the hospital sale proceeds to subsidize our budget or fund county programs that do not meet the North Carolina constitutional requirements.

I encourage you to learn more about me, as I am a commonsense person who is conservative, and I still work to provide for my family.  I Live Third (God 1st, Family/Community 2nd and I live for myself 3rd).
